Do you know a student that needs a little extra help with their homework? The library can help.
All member libraries of the Texas Panhandle Library System now offer HelpNow. Any Collingsworth Public Library cardholder can access HelpNow, seven days a week from 4:00 pm until 11:00 pm and connect for a one-to-one session with a carefully-selected tutor. Spanish speaking tutors are also available.
“HelpNow was designed to go beyond mere question/answer homework help,” said Francesco Lecciso, one of Brainfuse’s directors. “In addition to providing live, on-demand homework assistance, HelpNow also includes California-aligned skills building lessons, and an innovative writing lab. This suite of services is designed to accommodate a full range of academic needs.”
HelpNow provides library patrons with live, on-demand homework help, state-aligned skills building lessons from expert tutors, and a 24-hour writing lab. With HelpNow, tutors and students communicate in real time by typing, drawing, and marking-up lessons/web content. In addition, students may use HelpNow’s secure file sharing feature to submit their papers to our trained writing instructors any time of the day. All HelpNow tutors possess four-year college degrees, must undergo a rigorous selection and training process, and must complete a full background and security check.
The link to access HelpNow is on our web page: http://www.collingsworthpubliclibrary.info/ and the service can be accessed from any computer with internet access. This service is provided to our patrons at no charge to them. If you don't know your library card # and PIN please come by the library to get that info.

Riders on the Orphan Train Program
On Monday, October 20 at 7:00 pm the library will host performers Alison Moore and Phil Lancaster in a multi-media program about an exciting yet little known period in our history. Between 1854 and 1929 thousands of children were taken from New York City and placed on trains headed west to be given away. Through literature, music and archival photographs this virtually untold chapter in American history comes alive.
The program is made possible by a grant from Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
